Career Fair Blog

I recently attended a Career Fair, which was very interesting as I got to see all the jobs that are offered. This was a very interesting experience because there was a lot more variety in jobs than I was expecting when I first came in. When I was there, I was most focused on finance because that is one of the jobs that I can see myself doing in the future. There were many big brands that were there, such as JP Morgan and Morgan Stanley, etc. But there are also many that are not going to be at these fairs because there are a lot of corporate finance jobs. I think that working as an analyst in the real estate department for one of these big firms would be very interesting because I have always been interested in real estate and have wanted to learn a lot more about it. There are also other jobs that seem interesting, such as being a broker or investment banker for these firms. All these jobs have things that I find interesting, and would also have a very good starting pay if I were ...

Red Flags blog

When I first started to look for an internship opportunity, I was able to find many companies, or even fake companies, that had many red flags that you could see just by looking at them. One of the biggest red flags that I saw was when I got an email from a very sketchy email address that was offering me an internship that I didn't even apply to, and it was also offering me much more money than the average internship pays. This had many red flags in just that one email because, according to the PDF, it talks about how it is a red flag if the email that you get does not have a domain that is related to the company. Another red flag in this email is that it was offering me a job I did not apply for, and it was also over the salary range for the job. This was not the only time there were emails in my inbox full of red flags like that one. I also got a text from an unknown number and it was telling me to apply for a job at their place for over the summer. When I looked up their area c...

Salary Negotiation Blog

The first thing I learned from reading the salary negotiation PDF is the importance of researching the salary before the interview, so you know the range and average salary for the job. Also, I have learned that you do not want to talk about salary until you are already offered the position, if possible. Also, you should never accept an offer on the spot; you should always ask for some time to review everything. When you are ready to sign a new offer, it is very important to make sure everything in your offer is in writing so they can not go back on any part of the deal. Ask for what you think is fair is a very big part of what I got from reading this PDF, which means if you think you should have it, ask for it, but at the same time, do not try to ask for something that is completely unreasonable. Showing the research that you did into the salary to show whoever offered you the job the average salary for your job in the area is also very important because it will stop someone from...

Career Search blog

I have been looking into two careers that seem like they are things that I would like to do for a job. The two careers are acting and marketing. Actors have a very broad spectrum of work, such as TV shows, commercials, movies, plays, and voice-overs. For the education needed for acting, it is actually very minimal, even though there is extra education that you can get for acting, which is helpful, it is not required. The average wage for an actor is around 30$ an hour, but it has a very big range because you can make a lot less or you can make a lot more. There are a lot of future opportunities with acting because people are always making new movies and shows, so there is a lot of work to be done if you can get it. I think I would fit into this job because I have always liked acting, and I have taken many classes in college that I acted in. For marketing, your job is to create things that will promote interest in either a brand or a service. To work in marketing, you need to have ...
